Finding the Right Wedding Vendors

Weddings can be chaotic in the planning stages but it helps to know what kind of vendors you will need and the best way to talk and negotiate with those vendors. The best way to create a situation of less stress is to try and find vendors that offer multiple services as opposed to hiring vendors that offer only one service. For example, it makes things much easier for you if you hire a photographer that can also act as a videographer as well. This reduces the number of vendors you have to deal with and it makes keeping track of payments and deposits much easier.

Your reception hall can be used to help you reduce a great many vendors all at once especially if you work with a reception hall that specializes in weddings. Some reception halls offer packages for wedding receptions that you may want to consider. The main service offered by any reception hall is the catering. It is very advisable to book a reception hall that also offers catering as opposed to a reception hall that will require you to get outside catering. Some reception halls also offer a wedding cake service which you may want to consider. Once again the less individual vendors you have to deal with the easier it is for you.

Always get receipts for your deposits with vendors even if you are paying with a check. This is extremely important when it comes to smaller vendors such as DJs and photographers. Prior to doing any business with any vendor always check out their history and see who else has hired them and make sure they are reliable. Remember that a deposit does not always insure that a bad vendor will suddenly become reliable. Get a receipt from the vendor for your deposit and make sure that the terms of your agreement are spelled out clearly in a contract.

One of the vendors that you will deal with on your wedding day that requires a little more detail than the others is your DJ. The DJ is going to need to know every song you want played at your wedding and every song you do not want played. Make sure you go over the songs you do not want played with the DJ to avoid those songs turning up at your wedding reception. When the DJ arrives the day of the wedding check with them to make sure that they brought all of the music with them that is essential to the reception like the song for the bride and groom's first dance. It is much better to find out that the DJ forgot the first dance song when there is still time to go get it as opposed to when the bride and groom are standing on the dance floor waiting for the song that is supposed to start them dancing off into their life together.
