| How to Choose a Wedding PhotographerPeople can sometimes take for granted the skill that is required in being a good wedding photographer. When it comes to weddings there is much more than just getting the standard poses and making sure the lighting is right for the main wedding party photo. In choosing the right wedding photographer there are a few things to keep in mind that can help you make this extremely important decision and help you weed out the photographers that you would not want responsible for capturing your big day.
First and foremost a good wedding photographer is professional in everything they do when it comes to a client. If the photographer is late for your first meeting then that is not professional. If they are disorganized and do not have any way of keeping their records straight then that is also a sign of a lack of professionalism. This is important because this person needs to be able to slip in and out of various parts of your wedding ceremony to be able to capture the wedding as you want them too. What you do not need is a pushy photographer or one that is constantly in other people's way or tripping over the various decorations set up for the ceremony. Be certain you are hiring a true professional before you consider hiring any photographer. You can tell a lot about a photographer by the sample photographs that they show you in your first meeting. Many people dismiss their initial impressions about someone but you should not do that when it comes to a photographer. If their sample pictures seem odd to you then try and determine why and then ask the photographer about your concerns. Perhaps the lighting is a bit dark or the images are not centered in the picture. These are very important so be certain you address these concerns and find out why these pictures make you feel uneasy. Another thing you can look for in a photographer's sample pictures is the kinds of pictures that they take at a wedding. Are you satisfied with the quality of the standard poses that they have taken? Does the reception photos look like everyone is having a good time? Does the photographer offer the chance for unique and memorable photographs? You only get one wedding day so be certain that the photographer you choose has a habit of capturing all of the various events of the day so that when you look back on your wedding pictures you have the entire event captured as opposed to just the standard poses. Finally you want to feel comfortable with your photographer. If your photographer gives you an uneasy feeling then it is time to find a different photographer. Your wedding day is stressful enough without you having to worry about the photographer adding another level of stress to the day. Take the time to find the photographer that you enjoy dealing with and you will enjoy your wedding day that much more. | |||
