Many options to save money while planning your wedding

Planning a wedding can be an exciting and stressful time. While many of us have that grand vision of a beautiful, extravagant wedding with all the extra features, that is not necessarily the reality. Even on a budget, however, it is possible to have the wedding of your dreams without spending excessive amounts of money.

Wedding Rings on top of Money

When making plans, write a detailed description of how you see the big day. In one column, write the things that are most important to you, and in another those you view with flexibility. For example, you have found the perfect and very expensive dress at a bridal boutique. If this is the one you love, get it. There are ways you can cut cost in other areas to make up for it. Simple decorations go a long way and cost much less than scads of flower arrangements, banners and pew bows. A simple bow with a sprig of fake flowers can look as beautiful if arranged well. The setting itself also bears some importance in this. If the church, building, or outdoor area that you have chosen is naturally beautiful, work with that! Choosing the time of day that this place looks its best will cut down decoration costs too and still provide a wonderful ambiance for your special day.

Another aspect of the wedding day that can cost endless amounts of stress and money is the reception. Consider what kind of celebration you want to have. Serving dinner is a wonderful gesture, but is it necessary? If the answer is yes, that is fine. You will need to budget accordingly. There is much to say, however, for a simple cake and punch reception. This can cut costs, and still offer a grand time to celebrate with your loved ones. Shopping around for cake decorators is an important step, as well. Many offer different price fluctuations and services.

Decorating for the reception offers money saving possibilities. Instead of opulent flower arrangements, a simple table cloth, candle and holder and a few flowers can make a statement as well. Craft stores offer many products, such as bulk candle holders, flowers, ribbons and tulle. This might be a great way to have a fun day with your family and friends, playing with your favorites and coming up with the perfect table centers. Another option when considering reception decorations is to ask around. Some church or event facilities have decorations available to borrow. Maybe a friend or family member has something you may use. Most people would be more than happy to help the bride-to-be and have a hand in the wedding plans.

There are many options available in cutting costs for your wedding, while still providing the day of your dreams. Flexibility and a touch of creativity can aid you during this time. Also, keep in mind that it is one day, and the main point of it is the journey you are beginning for the rest of you and your spouse's live. Who you are marrying is much more important than how you are marrying them. That is the most important part!
