| Looking Your Best for Your Wedding: Where to StartOkay, so you're engaged and it's time to plan your wedding. You want everything to be picture-perfect. Most importantly, as the bride, you want to look fabulous! So where do you start? The absolute first step you must take is to decide what style of wedding you want, and the choices are as limitless as your imagination. This is vitally important so that you don't face expensive changes later. Beware of family and friends trying to help. Don't get me wrong; their help is necessary and greatly appreciated. But don't let them coerce you into something you don't want. For example, when I was recently married, my Mom and sister talked me into buying a beautiful wedding dress that I never wore. Why? Because we bought the dress before I had even decided on the style of wedding I wanted, which ended up being a Western wedding. I had to buy a different dress and wasted $600 that could have been spent elsewhere.
Once you've decided on the style, it becomes quite easy and great fun to put it all together. First and foremost, find a wedding gown appropriate to the theme. This is important because you will be the center of attention and everything else, including the groom, will serve only to compliment you. Do not discount the small details. Again, using my wedding as an example, once I had found my dress it was time to clothe the others. The bridesmaids were dressed, tastefully of course, as saloon girls and the groom and attendants in Old West attire, complete with boots and cowboy hats. You will likely encounter someone complaining about your choices; politely ignore it, it is your wedding. After this, all else will just fall into place. Hairstyles, jewelry and accessories appropriate to the theme will be pretty easy to find. The internet is an invaluable tool for ideas, concepts and designs. There are literally hundreds of sites to choose from, and with a bit of searching, you'll save money too. Just remember to relax and have fun along the way. It's your time to shine! | |||
